The Old English Sheepdog is an iconic breed with a shaggy, double coat that covers their entire body, including their face and eyes, standing at least 21 inches tall at the shoulder. Known for their amiable nature and bear-like gait, Old English Sheepdogs were originally bred as drovers and herders. Their coat can be any shade of grey, grizzle, blue, or blue merle, and requires regular, thorough grooming to prevent matting and to keep them clean. Despite their size, they are adaptable and can live comfortably in various settings if they have enough space to move around. They are known for their distinctive bark and playful demeanor. Social and affectionate, Old English Sheepdogs enjoy being part of family activities and are particularly good with children. Their friendly disposition extends to other dogs and pets, making them excellent additions to multi-pet households.
