As a sacred bird, it was in coin designs and other art. Even today, a large stone sculpture of an owl stands at the entrance to the Aquapolis Museum. In Japan, too, owls are in reliefs and other forms in legal buildings as symbols of wisdom. Because owls can rotate their necks 180 degrees, they are considered auspicious birds that symbolize foresight, business prosperity, and "good fortune." They are also said to be "messengers of God," "gods of learning," "birds of longevity," "symbols of wisdom," and "birds with spiritual power." People believe that owls are "birds of happiness" that protect humans by unraveling various unseen, latent problems in the natural world with their wisdom and mysterious spiritual abilities. Owls are popular as birds that bring good fortune, as their name, Fukurou, sounds like "fukurou" (owl), meaning "free from hardship." Furthermore, because owls can rotate their necks nearly 360 degrees, they are believed to have foresight and are highly valued as amulets for business prosperity. Those round eyes are captivating. The round, plump form and those alluring eyes become more endearing the more you look at them. Because each piece is hand-painted by the artist, no two are exactly alike. The auspicious owl brings joyful happiness. Owls are popular not only for special anniversaries but also for entrances and living rooms. Their adorable expressions bring warmth to the heart every time you look at them. Each owl is carefully handcrafted by artisans using traditional techniques. These works, brought to life by artisans, are treasured as auspicious items that bring happiness to various homes. Their vibrant colors are also a secret to their popularity.
