Rib Card is a product developed to reduce pain caused by pressure and friction between the protruding parts of the lower ribs (6th and 7th ribs) and the surfboard when paddling during surfing.

When paddling, your ribs will be under pressure. If this condition continues for a long time, the body will try to reduce the burden by creating lipomas between the skin and bones, which will swell significantly, although this will vary depending on the structure of the body.(It seems that it is also called paddle octopus or surfing octopus.) If you continue in this state, the lipoma inside will solidify and form a small lump. When that lump comes into contact with bone, I get a sharp pain that makes it hard to arch my chest on the board, let alone paddle. There is no other option than surgery to remove the hard mass.

Rib Guard cushions the contact surface between the ribs and the board, reducing the strain between the board and the ribs. With this cushion, even those who already have lumps can surf without feeling pain.

The materials used are 5mm thick neoprene rubber for the padding that protects the ribs, and 1mm neoprene rubber for the body.Neoprene rubber has excellent shock absorption and is often used not only in wetsuits but also as supports, so it firmly holds the ribs. The skin side is a synthetic fabric of polyester and polyurethane. You can use it without stress even if you wear it for a long time. The surface is a hook-and-loop fastener made of pile fabric that is stretchy and soft to the touch. You can freely adjust it when you want to tighten it tightly or loosen it.This fabric is also used for nursing care and medical supplies.
