[Amazon.co.jp Exclusive] Kenko Starry Night Pro Softon 55mm Soft Filter - Light Pollution Reduction + Softening Effect, Slim Frame Design, Made in Jap

Product Introduction

The "Starry Pro Softon" filter combines the light pollution reduction and softening effects of the classic astrophotography filters "Starry Night" and "Pro Softon" into a single filter.

The "Starry Pro Softon" is an effect filter that combines the effects of "Starry Night" and "Pro Softon," which are often used in combination for astrophotography, into a single filter.

By achieving the effects of two filters in one, the "Starry Pro Softon" is less prone to vignetting when shooting with wide-angle lenses and eliminates the hassle and risk of flare associated with stacking filters.

This is an Amazon-exclusive model featuring a filter case package different from the standard version.

■ About the Effects of the Starry Pro Softon

【Effect 1】Light Pollution Reduction Effect that Reduces Color Cast from City Lights Depending on the shooting location, streetlights such as sodium lamps and mercury lamps can cause the night sky to appear yellow or orange in the image.

"Starry Pro Softon" cuts out only specific frequencies of light, allowing other normal visible light to pass through, enabling natural color reproduction even without processing.

Furthermore, even when adjusting the color tone with development software, cutting out light pollution beforehand reduces the workflow and allows for more efficient image creation.

[Effect 2] Soft effect that highlights constellations while keeping landscapes and backgrounds clear A soft effect that beautifully blurs bright stars and makes constellations stand out. "Starry Pro Softon" has an effect equivalent to "Pro Softon Clear."

It applies a soft effect only to point light sources such as stars, and has little impact on the surrounding landscape, making it suitable for astrophotography or when you don't want to apply a soft effect to anything other than stars.

【Other Features】 ■ Multi-coating to suppress flare and ghosting caused by filter attachment ■ Blackened glass edge to suppress internal reflections ■ Thin frame design to minimize vignetting even when using ultra-wide-angle lenses ■ Knurled grip for easy attachment and removal ■ Lens cap can be attached ■ Exposure multiplier: 1/3 stop ■ Made in Japan
